Spotter-catcher – Cape York Peninsula – 2015

Development permits are often conditioned with having a ‘spotter-catcher’ on site during land clearing operations. This was the case for the Department of Main Roads which required some clearing of vegetation for the upgrading of the Peninsula Development Road in Cape York.  Our spotter-catcher has the required Rehabilitation Permit as well as tertiary qualifications and many years of experience in handling of native wildlife.  This enabled the clearing to progress efficiently whilst allowing for creatures such as these Sugar gliders (Petaurus breviceps) to be located and safely released outside of the clearing zone.
